Morning Light: Short Poem About Hope and New Beginnings

A POEM BY NASEER

The sky breaks open,
pouring gold through the cracks,
each ray a quiet promise
that the night was never permanent.

I breathe,
and the world breathes back.

COMMENTARY:

This short poem about hope was born on a rainy morning that suddenly gave way to sunshine. I wanted to capture that emotional shift. The moment the world feels like it’s gently nudging you forward. The gold “pouring through cracks” is a metaphor for how hope seeps in through even the smallest openings. I kept the language minimal so the reader could fill the emotional space themselves. The last line mirrors the inhale/exhale rhythm of feeling at peace again.
